Henry Ford Museum of Innovation
The Henry Ford Connect transforms your museum visit into an exciting and innovative experience with audio tours, AR content, an interactive map, and more.
I was responsible for prototyping these interactives. I worked with designers at Blue Cadet to pre-visualize the AR experiences and the interactive columns in the main gallery.
AR mashup was an interesting process, here is an early mockup I created in C4D and After Effects. Sourced from the museum archives, you can mashup 3D Models to form a new object like a Chair or Car or Plane. These shapes are all different aspect ratios. Finding a way to make them fit together and feel dynamic was a challenge.
I mocked up these AR experiences, the goal was to reveal more information behind each exhibit, and show how they connect. We wanted to know how the lottie animations would feel, how menus needed to slide in and out, and test all the little details involved in the experience.
These are large touch screens that had a lot of UX that needed to be fleshed out. I took the sketch files and brought them to life. Attract loops, call to action, examples of touching a datapoint ect. I created a lot of geometric transitions as well.
